The Carolina Ice Palace offers several options for youth hockey players ages 4-18 years old in the Charleston, South Carolina area. Whether you are brand new to the sport of hockey or play competitively, the Carolina Ice Palace has a program just for you!
Sticktime is designed for hockey players, ages 15 and below, to work on skills at their own pace. The cost for sticktime is $10 per player and player must sign in and pay prior to going on the ice. Failure to sign in and pay could result in a sticktime suspension. FULL EQUIPMENT REQUIRED for sticktime. Parents can accompany their child on sticktime for a nominal fee of $5 and must also sign in at the front desk prior to going on the ice. Parents must wear skates, helmet and gloves.
Horseplay, bullying, group drills and private lessons from non-CIP instructors is NOT TOLEARTED. YOUTH LEARN TO PLAY CLASSES (Ages 4-15) – Next Class starts September 9th!
Youth Learn to Play classes are held on Monday evenings from 7pm-8pm and are offered year-round. Full equipment and the ability to stand-up and move across the ice is required. Our next class will be an 8 week session running from Sept. 9 – October 28th. Online registration is currently OPEN!
HOCKEY SKATING SKILLS (Ages 5-10) – 7 Week Class starts September 16!
This fun 7 week class is held in conjuction with our Learn to Skate class and is recommended for current Little Rays players (Ages 5-10) who need more ice time to practice skating skills. Full equipment is required and all participants must be USA Hockey or USFS Registered.
LITTLE RAYS (AGES 4-8) – FALL SEASON (Mid Oct. – Mid. Dec.)
To start in the Little Rays Program, which consists of practices and games, players must be able to stand-up and move across the ice on their own. You can attend public ice skating sessions or register in our Learn To Skate Class to achieve this. The Little Rays program requires full hockey equipment and players must be USA Hockey registered. Little Rays has 3 seasons per year: Oct.-Dec. / Jan.-Mar. / May-June.
The FALL session of Little Rays will run from mid October – mid December and will meet on most Wednesday’s from 5:30pm-6:25pm and on Saturday late mornings/early afternoons. One or two sessions throughout the season may meet on other days and or times. Registration will open September 2!
